Praise Temple of Long Beach is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Dr. Bruce Scott Riley
Dr. Bruce Scott Riley is the husband of Karen Riley, the father of Dorian and Jason, the father-in-love to Lauren and Lisa, and the grandfather to Justice and Luke. He lives in Harbor City, CA.
He is the Senior Pastor of the Praise Temple Church in the City of Long Beach; a place to connect and feel God.
He has been a Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist for over 20 years. His primary focus is “the healing of the family”, which is serviced through his ministry, "Solutions with Dr. Bruce". He has also developed a foundation called Refresh the Anointing, which is designed to assist Senior Pastors and other ministers in an atmosphere of confidentiality and anonymity.
He counsels individuals, couples, youth, and children. Some of his favorite events are conducting Couples Retreats and Seminars for Singles.
He attended Aenon Bible College, Loyola University, and Emmanuel Bible College (B.A.)
His post-graduate work was done at Trinity Graduate School (M.S.) and the Living Word University (D.Min.)
He is the second Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Shield of Faith Fellowship, International.
He has written three books: My Lover, My Friend; Love is not Enough; Making Love Work, and currently preparing the fourth, The Journey to Forgive
Dr. Riley considers himself a lover of people and offers any help possible to those willing to obey the Word of God, the foundation to the solution of man’s problems.
Finally, he is a “Man of Understanding”.
Pastor Karen Z. Riley
Pastor Karen Zolita Riley is a friend, wife, mother and grandmother.
She is an Executive Elder of Praise Temple Church and heads the Women’s Department.
She is considered to always have the heart of God for His people. She is a woman of prayer – a true intercessor. She is the founder and leader of the “Fanning the Flames Prayer Summit”.
She has great insight into the things of God and knows how to communicate his will effectively. This is strategically conveyed when she conducts workshops and seminars for those facing complex issues. Her desire is to see God's people fulfill their full potential, both naturally and spiritually.
She completed her undergraduate degree at California State University at Dominguez Hills, where she majored in Sociology.
She not only counsels those in her local church but also ministers to women and Pastor’s wives across the country through “Sisters 4 Life”, which she founded in 2004. She is a woman of great wisdom and discernment.
Finally, Pastor Karen is a woman of real compassion. She feels and knows the people of God and reaches out to help as she is led of God. Her greatest joys are touching other lives and spending time with her family.
